This 26x30 acrylic canvas is my take on Zhong Kui (钟馗) — the legendary vanquisher of demons in Chinese folklore. Known as the “Demon Queller,” Zhong Kui is celebrated for his fierce spirit and unshakable sense of justice. With sword in hand, he drives away evil, protects the innocent, and brings peace and harmony wherever his presence is invoked.
His image has been revered for centuries as a talisman to guard against misfortune, a symbol of strength standing against chaos. In this piece, I wanted to capture not just his ferocity, but also the fiery energy that clears the path for light and peace.
