Second Self is my own branded painting series created to explore the quiet tension between who we present to the world and who we are when no one is watching. In a society built on performance, composure, and expectation, we learn to wear masks — curated expressions shaped for approval, survival, and belonging.

This series reflects that social reality. It asks a simple but uncomfortable question: when we stand alone in front of the mirror, are we seeing our true self — or another version we’ve practiced?

The mirror does not flatter, negotiate, or perform. It does not lie. It confronts. Through stark contrasts and controlled expressions, this body of work examines identity, duality, and the space between public appearance and private truth.
